- What is StudyHone?
- A revision web app that turns your notes into questions. You answer from memory, it marks your answer against your notes, and it brings each idea back just before you would forget it.
- Does StudyHone have flashcards?
- No. There are no flashcards, decks, mind maps, note editors or chatbots. StudyHone does one job: it makes questions from your notes and asks them at the right time.
- How is StudyHone different from other revision apps?
- Most revision apps give you many ways to study, including ones research rates as weak, like rereading and highlighting. StudyHone only uses practice testing and spaced reviews, which research rates as the most useful, and it writes the questions for you.
- Who is StudyHone not for?
- If you like making your own flashcards, drawing mind maps or chatting with an AI tutor, StudyHone won’t do those things, and it isn’t trying to. It’s for people who want the shortest route from their notes to remembering them.
- Does StudyHone ask the same question every time?
- No. Each idea is asked from several angles, such as a description, an example or a scenario, and practice moves to a new angle each time. That way you remember the idea itself, not how one question was worded. You can turn this off on your account page.
- Can the AI get questions wrong?
- Every question must point to the part of your notes it came from, and a second check removes questions your notes don’t support before you see them. If a mark still looks wrong, you can dispute it.
- What if I answer in my own words?
- That’s fine. Answers are marked on whether they contain the ideas from your notes, not on matching exact words. If the AI isn’t sure, it says it couldn’t mark your answer instead of marking you wrong.
- How does StudyHone use AI?
- AI writes questions from your notes and marks your typed answers against them. When each idea comes back is worked out from your answers, not by the AI.
- What notes can I use?
- Paste text, upload Word, PowerPoint, plain text, Markdown or subtitle files, or add a public web page. Pictures and equations are skipped, so type those out.
- Does it help before an exam?
- Yes. Add an exam, choose the notes it covers, and in the week before it every idea you have learned from those notes comes back at least once. One exam can cover several sets of notes.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. StudyHone runs in any web browser, on a phone or a computer.
